SKIPPER DETAILS

To take charge of Tarporley as a skipper, it is required that you hold the National Community Boats Association Certificate of Community Boat Management.

We run regular training days for potential skippers (and crew) supplemented by “hands-on” experience as crew to a qualified skipper on bookings during the year. Once we are satisfied that you have reached a reasonable level of competency, you will be entered on a formal course to obtain your certificate. We are an accredited training centre for the National Community Boats Association.

NOTE:

Since a lot of our bookings involve young people or vulnerable adults, ALL volunteers interacting with customers are required to obtain an enhanced disclosure check from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).  This will be free to you as CCNA will obtain this on your behalf.
